Would a '64 Corvair van make a good, open dune-buggy?

Looks like it has a clean, flat floorboard to begin a build-up on. It has a semi-frame that runs fully front to back that all the suspension attaches to. Looks like a flat-floored,self-contained,motorized truck-bed with only roll-cage,steering and pedals to build and locate to the drivers final seating position. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I'm looking for a little money,big-bang for the buck,dune-buggy type project, to build. One that is easy to do with just basic mechanic,destructing/constructing and welding skills.Yes-I do intend to construct a durable roll-over cage. One that will allow me to roll and go on with little or no reaction to that specific dilemma.

It can be with a larger frame than most. The '64 model has the last of the 2 link suspensions.
